Easy Sausage, Egg & Cheese Sandwich Recipe: Perfect Anytime

This quick and delicious Sausage, Egg & Cheese Sandwich recipe is your answer to a satisfying breakfast or lunch on the go!  It’s simple to customize with your favorite toppings and takes just minutes to prepare. Here’s what you’ll need:

INGREDIENTS

3 links Sheboygan Bratwurst sausages (or any sausage of your choice)

3 Medium Eggs

1 cup Cheddar Cheese

Baguette, sliced (we used 4 slices)

4 tbsp unsalted butter

Salt & Pepper

Hot sauce (optional, we used Tabasco)

Non-stick skillet

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Toast the Bread: Melt butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Toast your bread slices until golden brown and crispy. Set them aside.
  2. Cook the Sausage: Add the sausage (links or crumbled mince) to the skillet and cook over medium-low heat for 4 minutes, breaking it up as it cooks, until nicely browned.
  3. Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a bowl (or directly in the skillet), whisk together the eggs and your favorite shredded cheese.
  4. Scramble the Eggs: Pour the egg mixture into the skillet with the cooked sausage. Over low-medium heat, gently push the cooked egg mixture towards the center of the pan with a spatula, allowing the uncooked liquid to fill the edges. Repeat every minute until the eggs are just set but still slightly moist.
  5. Assemble the Sandwich: Spoon the cooked sausage and egg mixture evenly over the toasted bread slices. Season with salt & pepper to taste. Add a drizzle of hot sauce for an extra kick (optional).
  6. Slice & Serve: Cut the sandwich in half (optional) and enjoy hot.

    Tips:
  • Feel free to use different types of cheese like cheddar, mozzarella, or pepper jack for a flavor variation.
  • To add vegetables, include chopped onions, peppers, or mushrooms while cooking the sausage.
  • Leftover cooked sausage can be used for this recipe. Simply reheat it before adding it to the eggs.
